Our Ethos

We try our best to be the best that we can be.

At Clutton Primary School we have high expectations of all our children and staff and encourage everyone to ‘be the best they can be’.
We believe that children who feel happy, safe and secure learn best.

We aim to offer an education that encourages each child to ‘be the best they can be.’
We strive to make learning fun and our school a place where children love to learn and take pride in their achievements. We recognise individual talents and develop confidence so every child is motivated, inspired and enjoys learning.

By working closely with parents and the community we aim to build strong and effective partnerships, which help children to thrive.

Our Vision

…that staff, governors and parents work actively together to ensure children receive a rich, inspiring and engaging education enabling each child to become a lifelong learner, aspiring to high standards of achievement in all areas of their life.

Our Values

Our values are underpinned by our Golden Rules.

Our Golden Rules
At Clutton Primary we praise children for following our golden rules, which are:

  1. We are gentle; we don’t hurt each other.
  2. We are kind and helpful; we don’t hurt anybody’s feelings.
  3. We listen; we don’t interrupt
  4. We are honest; we don’t cover up the truth.
  5. We work hard; we don’t waste time.
  6. We look after property; we don’t damage things.

By following these rules we try to be the best that we can be.

We encourage all our children to enjoy and achieve in all aspects of school life; to be healthy; to stay safe and to make a positive contribution to our community.

We create a vibrant inclusive learning environment where children:

  • Learn to share and care
  • Develop good manners and show consideration to and for others
  • Develop skills needed for forming relationships, understanding the meaning of loyalty and friendship
  • Realise and understand that actions have consequences for oneself and others
  • Understand the need for rules and keeping them
  • Appreciate strengths and recognise the same in others
  • Solve problems, take risks and be creative
  • Learn to value themselves and those around them; respecting spiritual, moral, social and cultural differences in the world in which they live

We promote achievement by:

  • Holding the highest expectations for all.
  • Striving for every child to make the very best possible progress.
  • Being restless in our pursuit of excellence.

We develop as confident and independent learners by:

  • Providing learning which excites passion and curiosity.
  • Embracing challenge and not giving up.
  • Trying our best without fear of failure.
  • Speaking knowledgeably about our strengths and areas of improvement.

We value supportive and positive relationships by:

  • Bringing out the best in each other.
  • Showing pride in one another’s achievements.
  • Creating strong partnerships between home, school and the wider community.

We appreciate others by:

  • Valuing and respecting the rights of others.
  • Making sure everybody feels listened to.
  • Promoting good manners and caring attitude.
