Healthy School

High Littleton School is proud to be a healthy school. The school is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles for all in the school community.  We were among the first schools in the country to be awarded the National Healthy Schools Status (NHSS). We continue to strive yearly to ensure that our Healthy School status continues.

School Meals have come a long way since the days of tasteless pies, mash potatoes and turkey twizzlers.  On the current school menu planner, you will have seen that there are now a multitude of healthy food choices for our children.  Whether you want to give them a home-made lunch, a school meal (or a mixture of the two), please ensure they get a healthy brain-boosting lunch at school.

As part of our Healthy Schools status we have also been awarded a Bronze Award for Modeshift Stars. This means that we work hard to ensure that the children are always road safe aware and are mindful of the benefits of travelling to school either by walking or scooting rather than by car.

More recently, we have become a Sugar Smart School! Bath and North East Somerset have launched a new initiative with Sugar Smart UK to promote being more sugar aware.

Sugar Smart looks at what we can all do at home, in schools and in the community to help people recognize how much sugar is in their food and drink and to provide healthier options.

Sugar Smart have lots of great resources to show you how you can become more ‘Sugar Smart’ at home!
