Trinity Church School Celebrates Outstanding SIAMS Report Highlighting a
Flourishing, Inclusive and Spiritually Rich Community

Trinity Church School is thrilled to announce the outcome of its recent Statutory Inspection of
Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS), which praised the school as “an exceptionally
warm and accepting community” where children and adults alike are empowered to flourish.

The inspector commended the school for its deeply rooted and community-relevant Christian
vision, “Learning, growing, believing together,” which lies at the heart of all aspects of school
life. This vision, inspired by 1 Thessalonians 5:11, "Encourage one another and build each
other up," is described in the report as the unifying force behind Trinity’s compassionate
ethos, inclusive curriculum, and strong sense of spiritual identity.

Executive Headteacher Michelle Parsons expressed immense pride in the report’s findings:

“We are incredibly proud of this outcome, which reflects the dedication, warmth,
and inclusive spirit that defines Trinity Church School. The SIAMS report
recognises our school as a place where everyone is celebrated for who they are
and supported to reach their full potential. This is a real celebration of our entire
community - pupils, staff, parents, governors and our Trust.”

Among the many strengths highlighted in the report are:

  • A Christian vision that is “deeply embedded and uniquely relevant to its local context,” inspiring compassion, unity, and respect.
  • Collective worship that provides “meaningful moments in which pupils and adults can grow spiritually,” forming the heartbeat of daily school life.
  • A “culture of compassionate care” that enables all members of the school family to thrive emotionally, spiritually and academically.
  • High-quality Religious Education, which fosters “curiosity, respect and deep understanding of a range of worldviews.”

The report further celebrated the positive character of Trinity’s pupils, who demonstrate
confidence, kindness, and a strong sense of social justice. Pupils were praised for their roles
in promoting inclusivity, advocating for others, and leading initiatives such as food banks and
charity partnerships.

SENDCo and SIAMS lead Clair Hurley commented:

“This report beautifully affirms the strength of our school’s Christian foundation
and the impact of our vision in every area of school life. We are particularly
proud that the inspector recognised the deep relationships and inclusive ethos
that make Trinity feel like one big family.”

The SIAMS inspection noted just one development point: to deepen opportunities for spiritual reflection across the wider curriculum. School leaders have welcomed this recommendation as an exciting opportunity to build on the strong spiritual foundations already in place.

A unique highlight of the report was the powerful symbolism of the school’s sculpture,
Acceptance, which embodies the values of friendship, compassion, and unity in a community
proud of its heritage. This strong identity is further enriched through partnerships with the
Diocese, the Trust, and local community initiatives such as the town’s lantern parade and
remembrance events.

Trinity’s pupils themselves play an active role in shaping school life, from leading worship to
promoting causes such as anti-racism, neurodiversity, and mental health awareness. One
pupil shared, “We feel encouraged anywhere and everywhere at Trinity. We know we are
part of something special.”

In summarising the findings, the inspector concluded that Trinity Church School is truly
living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to
flourish.
