We are delighted to report that Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership (MNSP) schools are celebrating an incredible year of achievement across all phases.
In our primary schools, 82% of children achieved a Good Level of Development (national 69%) and 90% of Year 1 children passed the Phonics test (national 81%). Perhaps the most pleasing statistics were seen in Year 6 SATS, 71% of children met or exceeded Age Related Expectations in Reading, Writing and Maths combined - some 10% above the national figures. Disadvantaged children almost matched their peers in primary school assessments and exceeded national rates by some 20%.
At Key Stage 4 the Trust continued to see strong results with nearly 80% of all grades across subjects at a 4 or higher (old C grade). 70% of pupils across the Trust achieved a grade 4 or better in both English and Maths, with 50% achieving grade 5+ in both English and Maths (National 45%).
At 'A' level every school had a progress score of zero or better and across the Trust the average grade achieved was a B- (national C). A number of our Post-16 schools saw progress scores at 0.35 or better, suggesting they are adding a third of a grade or more compared to similar schools nationally. We also saw almost 90% children gaining their first choice university place - a stunning statistic.
As CEO, I am always very proud of what is achieved by our pupils. I have been particularly impressed with the performance of primary schools and those taking 'A' levels this year. GCSEs have also remained strong across our schools as a result of hard work from our Year 11 pupils. This shows the power of meaningful collaboration, where schools come together for the good of all children.
